I am so proud of my sister, as she has really made a change in her life. This is what she wrote to me to share with all of you.
It has been good I am REALLY watching what I am eating, I did good this weekend I did have a salad yesterday for lunch with the girls and it had some feta on it, but that was it.
I made eggs for breakfast with yogurt and have my dinner planed for the night, seafood, roasted potatoes and broccoli.
The first step to good health is what you put into your body. My sister is a cheese lover so this is a huge step for her. She has come up with her own way of having cheese and still keep it under control. Diet does not mean to restrict calories until you lose the weight, it means to have a diet you can live with the rest of your life. A long healthy life.
Exercise is the next step and yep, she figured out a way to do that without too much difficulty.
She bought a new pedometer which has distance, calorie counter and steps for only $10. Guess what she learned by wearing that pedometer? That going to the grocery store walking the aisles burned calories and with a list so she was not emotionally buying. She did not walk down every isle but still accomplished .25 of a mile. Pretty amazing. We used to window shop when we were growing up, we shopped many windows. What a great way to check out prices and get some exercise.
Because she was so energized, she went home to do some yard work. How amazing is that?
